Nestling at the base of Mont Sainte-Odile, Saint-Nabor is a small, peaceful village surrounded by forests and vineyards. The village’s history and heritage are intertwined with Niedermunster Monastery, an abbey which is now in ruins but which had been converted into a hospice by Saint Odile. The hospice’s purpose was to take in ailing pilgrims who could not make it all the way up to Mont Sainte-Odile. The little Saint Nicolas Chapel, located downhill from the ruins, is a perfectly restored monument of Romanesque architecture.
