Physical and object theater. By the Lonely Circus Company. A moving interplay of reflections across the ages and through circus traditions! What do you do when you’re a circus artist and you inherit, from a 102-year-old woman, a few objects that belonged to her late husband, Pierre Bonvallet, known as Punch, who was a postwar whiteface clown and performed as part of a duo at the Cirque Médrano in Paris and the Krone Circus in Munich, along with this unsettling instruction: “Do something with them”? Tightrope walker Sébastien Le Guen invites you to share in what he makes of it and to literally unravel the thread of this investigation, which quickly becomes for him a dizzying mise en abîme of his own journey. We walk a tightrope from one decade to the next. “Theater of the body and the object,” says Sébastien Le Guen. A circus-theater of emotion, a true ode to vertigo. Ages 8 and up. OUTSIDE THE WALLS: Salle des Fêtes, Rue de Sélestat in Obernai.
